Banging on WordPress 3.0

Greetings to my fellow man,

I’m simultaneously trying out new things on WordPress 3.0 while also refreshing the layout around here. You’ll probably see it change a gazillion times in the next little bit. Hopefully it doesn’t cause too big of an inconvenience.

I’ll get my stuff together one of these days.

HTML 5 & CSS3 Support

Assuming they can keep this grid updated it could be pretty nice tool moving forward. I also think this is a pretty clear illustration that Flash isn’t going anywhere. Because unless you’re rocking webkit you can’t animate things around.  And of course if you’re using IE you’re retarded out of luck for most of this stuff anyways. Continue reading

This Is Just A Big iPod Touch

The iPad was announced today. I have to say. It’s pretty dumb. It’s seriously just a giant iPod Touch. Oh wait, it’s worse…it doesn’t even have a camera. It doesn’t: Continue reading

MWC Tweets

What’s up all you MWC fans? Normally I spend most of my time on Oregon related stuff, but my Creative Director at work designed a little Adobe Air app that I worked my AS3 mojo on to create a cool Tweet aggregator. Did I mention I love writing ActionScript? Anyways, feel free to give it a download if you wanna keep up to date on the various football tweets.

Snow Leopard/Firefox Font Fix

Hello to everyone having the weird issue with Firefox 3.52 displaying the font in the bookmark bar and various other areas as bold. Perhaps you see it as looking something like this…

screen-shot-2009-08-28-at-91732-pmNot exactly what you want to be looking at after a new OS upgrade touting some new font smoothing properties! We’ll, I have a fix that worked for me. Hopefully it helps. Continue reading

Back Working For The Man

Hello neglected readers. I’m officially back to working full time and thus the large gap in posts. Additionally, I’ve got a freelance project I’m working on heavily for the next two weeks.

I’ll need to get back to answering questions and trying to post some worthy content, but I need to get on a normal schedule first. Things are hectic at the moment.

For those that care I’m now the Senior Web Designer at an online advertising agency, HyperX Media. We rule.

A New Trend? (I hope not…)

I was just doing a little checking up on some news this morning and BAM! There it was. I’m all for exposure and getting the word out, but damn…that’s really in your face. I hate to say it, but we’re seeing it more and more. Integrated background art, concurrent ad placements, etc. are all starting to rear their “ugly” heads. Continue reading

Versions With A Local Repository

I hope I can make this a bit easier to understand for a few people. Versions is simply a Subversion client for the Mac. I wanted to start using it for my personal projects and had the need to work locally. I know this eliminates many of the benefits of Subversion, but it makes sense for me to use it in this way. Continue reading

HexLuv AS3 Scroll Bar Class

I just updated version 2.1. There really isn’t any new eye candy or anything. I’ve just fixed a stability issue with the mask not being added to the display list and thus causing whatever you’re applying the scroll bar to not to be visible. Have at it! Continue reading

There Will Be Only One Warsaw

As a proud graduate of the Warsaw Sports Marketing Program at the University of Oregon I am sad to announce that its founder Jim Warsaw has lost his battle with Parkinson’s at the age of 61. Those that have met him or heard him speak know what a true inspiration he was. We wish his family the best and offer our thanks for the great program he put together. We’re all better because of him.
